OCC 2010 AGENDA

We have followed all items of the agenda:
  • Sound proofing is continuing - however much more information has been gathered and we should know shortly of the outcome
  • We were first told by letter from Fingal Co. Council Manager that they would be spending the money to build the road and carpark for the train station - and now we are told there is no funding.  We will be making a plea to our own TD who is the Minister of Transport and communicated his disgust with the situation pre-election, to follow this up and get the train station operation for residents.
  • The play ground in Ongar Park has had much attendendance from Blanchardstown Gardai and the problems that were there originally have calmed greatly after much work behind the scenes from the OCC, publicly in the local paper, Community Voice, and with local residents.
  • The pedestrian crossing for the schools is now being enforced by Fingal Co. Council to have all the roads and footpaths to standard by Manor Park Homes and once this is done a crossing can be authorised by the council.
  • The board of the OCC, the chairperson - Gerard, has been working hard with Fingal Co. Council (FCC) community department.  We now have to groups from FCC attending meetings with the OCC for further development.  Last year a community event in the school was organised for all of Ongar.  Items of concern where noted and continue to be worked on.  The board will participate in a 'get to know your neighbour programe' set up by FCC, which should commence sometime mid 2011.  The new St Benidicts school has oppened and the OCC will be offering all residents that are members, who wish to use the community hall for any type of social or business activity insurance under the OCC unbrella for free.

A new AGM is yet to be set this year because of the set back of the floods in Christmas 2010 in peoples homes and other building defects found because of those floods, which the OCC are working on as a priority. Notice will be given via a newsletter prior to the AGM for 2011. As usual post and board positions will be available for residents to get involved with there community at leadership level and contribute as a team to real changes - not just talk, new ideas, long term renters are considered to be as interested in the outcome of Ongar as homeowners and investors.
